At Adore Bridal, we’ve always been committed to offering beautiful, high-quality wedding gowns that reflect your personal style, your values, and your price point. That’s why we want to be completely transparent about an important change that’s impacting the entire bridal industry — and what it means for you, the bride.

Recently, the U.S. government enacted new tariffs that penalize all purchases from outside of the United States. These tariffs affect many industries, including bridal and formalwear. While these changes are outside of our control, we are doing everything we can to minimize the impact on you, our valued brides.

Over the past few months, we’ve done our best to absorb the costs of tariffs quietly—especially as a few of our designers began enforcing them earlier this year. We chose not to pass those fees on in February and March, even though they impacted us financially. However, with the newly increased tariffs introduced just this past week, it’s no longer sustainable for us to continue absorbing these additional costs.

Our collections are carefully sourced and produced in ethical factories located in China, Vietnam, South Korea, and Canada. Because of these newly implemented tariffs, every gown and item imported from these regions will now have an individual tariff fee associated with it. This fee is determined by the U.S. government, not by us, and unfortunately, it’s something that is ever changing.

What You Need to Know:

  • Each dress may have a tariff fee added, which is passed through from what is being charged to us. We are absorbing a portion of that fee to reduce the burden on you.
  • These fees vary by style & designer and may change at any time. We are only able to quote the fee on the specific day you're in the store and looking at a particular style.
  • If staying within a specific price point is important to you (and we totally understand if it is!), let your stylist know. We’re more than happy to guide you toward options where the tariff impact is lower, so we stay within your desired price point.

We know this may feel frustrating — especially when planning your wedding should be joyful and exciting! We’re right there with you. This shift is something our entire industry is struggling with, and our team is working daily to find the most transparent, supportive way forward.

If you would like to join in advocating for change, there is an electronic petition from well known bridal designers HERE that we ask you to sign, it only takes a minute! This petition asks for an exclusion of bridal & formalwear designers from these tariffs — because the reality is, there is currently no infrastructure in the U.S. to produce wedding gowns at accessible price points.

Bridal designers, such as Justin Alexander, Lillian West, Sincerity Bridal, Madi Lane Bridal, Maggie Sottero, Allure Bridals, Essense of Australia, Stella York, Mon Cheri and even VOWS Magazine are advocating for change! An exclusion from these tariffs for the same reasons. Our designers do not want to add an additional cost to the bridal stores or brides that purchases dresses from their brand. Please consider signing this electronic petition to make a huge impact on small business & the wedding industry.

Just for argument’s sake; here’s what that could look like if production of formalwear were to shift entirely to the United States:

  • Bridal gowns made exclusively in the U.S. would start around $3,000–$4,000 — and that is still using fabrics sourced abroad.
  • If we were to also move fabric production stateside, gown prices would start at no less than $5,000—and fabric options would be significantly limited. Some textiles, like silk, rely on raw materials that simply aren’t grown or produced in the U.S., making them impossible to source domestically. This is exactly why we live in a global economy—so we can access the quality and variety needed to create the gowns our brides love.

We believe brides shouldn’t have to sacrifice style, quality, or price point just to say “yes” to the dress they adore! And we believe in supporting small, local, brick-and-mortar shops like ours, who are deeply invested in our communities and in the brides we serve!

So thank you — truly — for bearing with us as we navigate this evolving situation. We’re committed to transparency, affordability, and making your dress dreams come true!

XOXO,

Janice, Aaron and The Adore Squad
